Fibre-Optic Cabling

Fiber optic (or "optical fiber") refers to the medium and the technology related with the transmission of information as light impulses along a glass or plastic wire or fiber. Fiber optic wire carries much more information than conventional copper wire and is far less subject to electromagnetic interference. These standards help in installing the appropriate cables in various building structures as per the functionality and requirements. For telecommunication network, a central patch panel is used, from where the modular connection can be established. Category 5 (Cat 5), Category 6 (Cat 6), optical fiber and modular connectors are commonly used in the systematic cabling systems. Structured cabling systems are beneficial in many ways. As it follows a standard, the design and installation is consistent. It follows a disciplined cable installation and uses minimal possible space.
